The 2010 Mazda 3 has been greatly rated by a few of the country's most respected motoring magazines and journalists.

The latest Mazda 3 is proving to be as admired as previous models, and Mazda has had the wisdom to enhance the features that have been praised in past models. The new elongated exterior, which improves the aerodynamics of the car, has been favourably received, the interior is much improved with some nice new shapes and everything has a feeling of excellence in engineering. There is a surprising amount of space available in the Mazda 3 thanks to some clever attention of detail on the part of the design team.

The engine produces 156 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 150 lb-ft at 4500 rpm with a fuel economy of 24 city and 27 freeway.

The design theme of the all-new Mazda 6 has been passed along to its smaller sibling, especially in its handsome, stretched trapezoidal-shaped headlights, taillights and fog light housings. There's also some of the swoopy front fender shape present and the new grille is the result of both styling and wind-tunnel testing.

As far as perks and gadgets go, the well equipped new Mazda 3 is available with adaptive bi-xenon headlights, heated seats, an 8-way power driver's seat, keyless entry with push-button start, hands-free Bluetooth cell phone and audio controls, and a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system.

Thanks to larger gauges, a new information display screen high on the center of the dash and tilted to the driver, along with an overall more upscale look to all of the controls, you feel a lot better driving around in this Mazda 3.

Part of the Mazda 3's appeal has been its extreme sportiness and all-round fun driving experience, and Mazda has been able to retain the performance and handling that enthusiasts have come to expect. The Mazda 3 proves that a small car doesn't have to be boring or plain; that small can be sporty and powerful.
